Generation Change in Medium-sized Businesses 2010
The firm survey highlights the generational change in medium-sized firms in Germany from the successors’ perspective. The survey focuses on the development of firms after a succession. In 2010, about 1,000 medium-sized firms, in which a generational change had taken place, were addressed in a telephone interview (CATI). The questions in the survey mainly addressed structural changes initiated by the new owner or manager, and the various problem areas the successor is confronted with in the firm and with external business partners. Furthermore, the role of the former owner can be analysed.
