High School Students Gain Insights into Theory and Practice at ZEW

High school students from the Eschbach-Gymnasium in Stuttgart-Freiberg visited the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), Mannheim, to learn more about – and become actively involved in shaping – the linkages between economy theory and practical applications. Under the direction of Dr. Martin Kesternich, the high school students learned about the relationship between the economy and the environment not only through theoretical lecture blocks, but also through current research work. The research project “Carbon Neutral Courier Services” (CO2URIER) was used to present the guests a concrete way to improve the sustainability of companies and to discuss with them the importance of voluntary, individual climate protection measures.
