This module focuses on the impact of UW on the productivity and innovation success of firms. We will consider the technological dimension of UW, comprising employees’ equipment with mobile devices, mobile internet access and remote access to firms’ internal networks and data. Flexibility with respect to the workplace and time, such as home office and trust-based working time, will be taken into account. The analytical framework combines economic concepts with concepts of media psychology and cognitive psychology. Our empirical analyses will be based on firm-level data and data from an employee survey.
