Module 1

Objectives

Within this module we analyse the employer- and employee-specific factors that are likely to drive or impede the diffusion of UW. Empirical evidence on the incidence of home office or job-related use of digital media during leisure time, taking into account firm- or individual-level characteristics, is scarce. Even less is known about the question whether firm-specific, individual, or the interrelation between employer- and employee-specific characteristics are the driving forces of UW. The impact analyses planned in the following modules require deeper insights into the selection mechanisms of UW. We have access to diverse firm and employee data including linked employer-employee data to perform this kind of research.
