Kick-off Event of the BMBF Projects under the Framework Economics of Climate Change

The total of 29 research projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) within the framework of the funding line „Economics of Climate Change (Phase II)“ met in Berlin from 12 to 14 June 2019 for a joint kick-off. The programme included the presentation of the individual projects by poster pitches, several thematic workshops for the exchange between the projects and for the planning of joint activities as well as a meeting for doctoral students. In a panel discussion, Sylvia Kotting-Uhl, MdB (Chairwoman Environment Committee of the Bundestag), Sabine Nallinger (Managing Director Stiftung 2°), Jakob Schlandt (Head of Tagesspiegel Background Energie & Klima) and Professor Achim Wambach (ZEW President, Co-Chairman of the Commission Competition Law 4.0 of the German Federal Government, Chairman of the German Monopolies Commission), moderated by Professor Karen Pittel (Director of the ifo Center for Energy, Climate and Resources), discussed the expectations of civil society, politics and business regarding research.
