ZEW Short-Term Exchange Programme (STEP)
The ZEW Short-Term Exchange Programme (STEP) facilitates scholarly exchange by providing an excellent opportunity for short-term research stays at ZEW. This programme attracts established researchers of demonstrated academic excellence from all over the world. The purpose of STEP is to help develop new research ties and intensify existing cooperation through exchange visits between ZEW and other research institutions.
STEP participants are expected to partner with ZEW staff on research projects and, in addition, may conduct individual research. Ideally, they will work on a joint research paper to be published by ZEW and/or on the development of significant joint research initiatives for future collaboration.
Applicants should send a cover letter including the preferred time frame for their stay, a full CV, and a list of publications to:

“It is always a pleasure to visit academically challenging places like ZEW. Throughout the time that I stayed at ZEW, I particularly enjoyed the stimulating discussions from which surely there is scope for further collaboration and which are the basis of a number of projects to be carried out.”
Prof. James J. Heckman, PhD, University of Chicago, USA, Visiting Researcher, ZEW, Labour Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy
